Financing Hinkley Point C
Steve Thomas and Alison Downes published a report on the financing of Hinkley Point C. The brief summary is that at some point between October 2015 when the terms of the UK credit guarantees were made known and 2018 (before Hinkley construction start) when the last chance of Flamanville meeting the terms of the guarantee that it should be in commercial operation by end 2020, EDF decided not to take up the UK credit guarantees and from that point, EDF had no credible means of financing Hinkley.
